Ford Mustang Manual Transmission (MT82) Legal Claim Options

If you are the current or former owner of a 2011-17 Ford Mustang equipped with the MT82 manual transmission system, and you’ve experienced transmission problems, it’s important to know that you’re not alone and you have legal options to explore. Stern Law is in the process of assisting current and former owners pursue compensation for transmission issues they have experienced with their Ford Mustang. It doesn’t matter if you are a current or former owner as thousands have been affected by Ford’s defective MT82 and now deserve the chance to pursue cash compensation and other legal options outside of what the ongoing Mustang manual transmission class action may have to offer.

Filed back in May of 2020, the ongoing Ford Mustang manual transmission class action case for these vehicles, Gregorio v. Ford Motor Company, claims that the MT82 transmission was not meant to be installed in certain Mustangs and was only meant for smaller vehicles with four-cylinders. It alleges that Ford was not only aware that these MT82 transmissions were defective, but that they used them to cut costs and manufactured them knowing they were defective. We believe these transmission defects are dangerous to drivers and should never have been sold by Ford with knowledge of this defective transmission.

While a class action case has been filed against Ford and may seem like a step in the right direction, our firm does not believe it will truly meet the needs of Mustang owners and it will fail to permit them to pursue all the compensation they deserve for all the issues they’ve experienced with their vehicle. Class actions in our view, and in the opinion of many owners, often benefit the manufacturer, not the consumer, while paying hefty legal fees to the lawyers that bring these cases. We, on the other hand, believe that every client deserves the right to pursue their own individual claim and recover everything the law permits, which in our experience has been much more than the benefits usually made available through class actions.

Whether it was a malfunctioning transmission, unexpected repair bill, an inability to drive your vehicle, reduced resale value and much more… every current or former owner has a claim. Including you. Click here to get started now!

You see, we’re no strangers to taking on Ford over their defective transmissions, which they successfully hid and punished many owners through another outrageous class action settlement.  Ford did it with their DPS6 Focus and Fiestas and now they’re attempting to do it again with their Mustang vehicles equipped with the MT82. In fact, our firm opted out over 13,000 current/former owners of Ford Focus and Fiesta vehicles. We saw the transmission issues associated with these Focus and Fiesta vehicles and how little the class action settlement provided  for their owners. We witnessed how Ford and its dealerships used every excuse imaginable to avoid admitting that serious defects existed in their transmissions, frequently blaming the owner for their driving style or technique, or claiming the problem was “in their head,” just for a sampling of a pathetic attempt to avoid responsibility. But do you believe their excuses and think your Mustang manual transmission issues are your responsibility? If not, begin a claim today against Ford for the Mustang manual transmission problems that have plagued so many, resulting in costly repairs and significant drops in resale value.

We also know this isn’t any laughing matter to you. Your time, the operation of your Mustang, the security of your investment in your vehicle and even your safety have been or may be at risk. No one wants to be ‘the biggest loser’ in a situation like this. Many of our clients report already feel this way when it comes to the purchase of their Mustang equipped with another problematic, allegedly defective manual transmission. Repeat repair attempts, even costly repair bills, have caused many owners to seek our help. Our no out-of-pocket fee agreement means they won’t lose anything by exploring all available legal options. But what do you stand to lose by exploring these options? Nothing. But we also believe that by standing still and accepting whatever excuse Ford provides may cost you a lot.

As mentioned, while a class action has been filed against Ford, our firm does not believe it will ever truly meet the needs of all Mustang owners and it will not allow them to pursue all the compensation they deserve for the transmission issues they’ve experienced. How do we know? Our opinion is based on the history of these settlements. Failing to opt out of the class action case to pursue an individual claim will mean that owners agree to accept the terms of the class action settlement. That means by not opting out, you will lose the right to pursue other legal options and be forced to accept whatever the class action lawyers and Ford believe you deserve.  For this and many other reasons, we’re simply not comfortable with class action cases and you can begin to see why. Stern Law believes that our clients deserve the right to determine for themselves what’s fair compensation, not Ford or the class action lawyers that may seek to treat every owner the same with something far less than that what they might be entitled to receive though their own individual claim. Why?  In short, Stern Law believes that all owners should seek options that will put them in control of their own claim, not Ford or the class action lawyers.

Every day we hear from many current and former Ford owners who have very strong feelings about the frustrating issues they’ve experienced  with their Mustang manual transmission. Given the way in which transmission problems have resulted in costly repair bills and/or drops in resale value, we have to ask: would you buy another? If you wouldn’t buy another Mustang vehicle, that suggests the problems surrounding this transmission have already impacted you. That impact is also why we feel every current and former owner should fully explore their legal options to pursue cash compensation through their won individual claim by opting out of the class action case. If the issues with the MT82 are enough to discourage you from purchasing another Mustang, it should also be the reason you stand up for yourself now and learn how we can help.
